They had to taze him twice because the barbs didn't stick the first time. He has scars on his back now from his brave volunteerism.....
Dave and I spent some of our hard earned tax returns to take a road trip to Vegas over Memorial weekend. I had never been so it was a fun.... eye opening experience. We did a lot while we were there though.
The not so fun activities were walking from The Sahara to Exalibur... walking through cigarette smoke everywhere we went... and trying to sift out way through the drunks and street peddlers...
The FUN activities were attending a session and doing sealings at the Las Vegas Temple (we did this before anything else. It was a GREAT way to start our weekend and kept us in perspective). Going to Tournament of the Kings for dinner and a show at the Exalibur. Seeing Criss Angel at the Luxor. Eating at In-n-Out which was another first for me. Going to Shark Reef at Mandolay Bay. Going to the Stratosphere for a scary walk around the top. Shopping. And last of all: I took a stab at the slot machines... I don't get gambling and I got REALLY bored with it after about $5 so since we were at Circus Circus we played in the arcade area and won a TON of stuffed animals and candy. Then to finish our weekend we went to a local ward for Sacrament meeting and part of a Sunday School lesson before making our way home.
Dave and I found out May 28, 2010 that we are expecting our first baby. We were planning on starting our family, but it happened a lot faster than we were expecting. We only had one month in between my pill ending and us getting pregnanct.
Everything worked out amazingly and I wouldn't ask for it to have gone any other way. Dave and I wanted at least one year together before starting our family and it worked out just like a dream. Because of our great opportunities with our jobs
I am double covered for this pregnancy and we will probably not have to pay a ton of money when all is said and done. We have a great doctor who records our ultrasounds for us at each visit and puts them on a DVD for us so we can watch them at home and show our families. It has been really fun to watch the baby grow. We have had two visits so far and the baby is healthy and actually measuring a week ahead of our due date, but plan on February 6, 2011 for the newest memeber of Team Owen to join the world.
