Well, I have been waiting since November 26th for David to come home, and FINALLY he is returning to Utah this week! Neither one of us can fully explain, in words, how excited we are for his return. I am sure, for those of you who have been engaged and gone through a similar situation as ours, you are fully aware of our feelings!
The paper work is almost complete.... we are just waiting for Dave to have his final interview with his stake president and for his bishop here in UT to talk to his bishop in MS about the interview he had there. I can't lie and say this has been the easiest thing for me to just wait for. For those of you who know me... I like to get things done FAST and on my time! I have had to learn the valuable lesson of patients and trust in others. I have had my "break downs", some more recent than others, but I have been waiting thousands of years to marry Dave... I can wait a few extra months.
I am amazed though how quickly everything else is coming together. Although Dave has been out of state for the last four months, Heavenly Father is guiding us toward the temple and the covenants we will make with one another there. Although the swiftness of men is not what I would prefer I cannot be more thrilled with how things are going. Both of Davids bishop's have been working really hard to get everything together for us. His ex-wife turned her letter in before either of us thought she would... she had hers in before David was able to mail his in!! It is a huge blessing to see the hand of the Lord in our lives!
I attended the Draper Temple Dedication yesterday with my bishop, his wife and two of their daughters. It was so amazing to see our living prophet dedicate the House of the Lord for the work of the dead! My love for the temple has always been strong, but it has grown leaps and bounds over the last year! This truly is our Father in Heaven's work and it is our duty to do our part and strive to live our lives as Christ would.
Before David left for BMT, we were able to attend the Ogden Temple and do baptisms for the dead together. It was such an amazing experience to be with him in the temple! I am so grateful for the priesthood that he holds! It is an amazing blessing and I can't wait to share those blessings with him when we are married!!
I love David so much and although marriage is not the easiest thing, I am willing to work at it everyday! As long as we are keeping our baptismal covenants and remember our Father in Heaven in all things, we will prevail through the good days and the bad!
Young lady I HAVE gone through the long, hard waiting that you went through and CONGRATS you have almost made it. No one really knows what it feels like unless they have gone through it and believe me I know it has been hard for you. Now be careful when he gets home! :) You won't want to leave his side nor he yours, but just remember what you are now waiting for together - your temple marriage. (Advice from someone who has been there) :) Love ya girl!
