I have had so many personal realizations since Peyton was born that have helped me look at others and myself differently and my testimony of our Heavenly Father's love for each one of us has grown because of this. My testimony of the Plan of Salvation seems much firmer than it did before and my desire to live righteously everyday has grown.
Although Peyton has a hard time sleeping at night and a result of this is my inability to get a schedule figured out for myself with work, sleep and house cleaning I wouldn't trade it for anything. I cherish each moment I have with my daughter and I never want to forget what this pure love and happiness feels like.
Nicknames: "Tron Baby"- Dave gave her this nickname when she had to be on the bili blanket. I enjoyed calling her "My Little Light Bug". "Baby Girl, Sweetie"
Favorite sounds and sights: She LOVES to hear the water run whether it is the kitchen or bathroom sink or the bathtub. She stops anything she is doing to sit wide eyed and listen intently. She loves staring at her mommy and daddy's faces and will move her head back and forth to follow them if they move.
Things she doesn't like: Having a messy diaper- I don't blame her though...
Newly developed skills: Rolling from her back onto her right side, back onto her back. Pushing off of mommy and daddy's legs or stomachs when being held under the arms into a standing position. Last, but not least can be seen in the picture above-- holding her own head up. The only time she really lets her head wobble is when she is tired or fussy. Don't worry though- we are good parents and support her neck and head... we just let her work her neck muscles as much as she wants to.
Well, Dave and I have something VERY exciting happening next month (if our credit check clears that is). We found a duplex just a few blocks away from our current apartment! We turned in our application this morning and will hear back as soon as the routine checks have been done on our history. The owner seems like such a down to earth guy and he and his family actually live next door to the duplex. They seem like an awesome family and have already told us they are excited to get to know us better:)
This opportunity actually fell into our laps and wasn't what we were even expecting right now, but Dave and I have both prayed about it and feel that it is the right thing for our little family right now.
If we were to make a positive and negative list for moving to this house (which I have done in my head) there would only be two things on the negative side.... leaving our ward and the extra money it will be in rent each month. Dave and I are super bummed about the ward issue, but the owner assured us that the ward there is amazing (so we will be taken care of).
I am looking forward to this awesome opportunity that has presented itself to our little family. Now the positive list for all those who want to know how blessed we are with this opportunity:
3 bedrooms
1 bathroom
washer and dryer included
dishwasher
large living room
dining room
fireplace in the living/dining room
Large backyard with a play set for kids
1 car garage with A TON OF SPACE- Dave is excited about his area:)
a cute little walk in closet in the master bedroom
lots of storage space!!
so many cupboards and drawers in the kitchen I am going to have to buy tupperware and food to fill it
a coat closet
the street is lined with beautiful trees
there is off street parking for extra vehicles
Internet is included in the rent-which saves us $60 a month
there are two planter boxes on the porch where I can plant flowers this spring
NO SMOKING-- which is one of the things I am MOST excited about
NO PETS
Awesome neighbors
close to WSU and the freeway
These are just a "few" of the perks to this place. Dave and I are so thrilled with it, obviously:)
If everything works out we will be able to move in April 1. :)
Shina, I am so happy for you guys! I think you guys will be so happy there. Nice to have the landlord next door where you can go and knock on the door if there are any problems. It's amazing how fast time flies. I swear I need to get pregnant again just to slow it down. It feels like we just brought Kel home and now she's almost 2! Let me know if you need help packing and moving when the time comes.
ReplyDeleteI hope the duplex situation works out. Let us know if you need help moving.
ReplyDeleteCongrats! It's so good to hear that things are going so well for you guys! This is kind of random, but I know you were thinking about bountiful baskets and I found a couple of posts that my friend has made on her blog to show what they've received. Just in case you want to check it out, here is a link: http://lukeandandrea.blogspot.com/2011/01/quick-update.html
