So, I just wanted to quickly get some EXCITING NEWS on here because Dave is at wrestling pratice and I HAVE to tell someone!
Because i work with health insurance companies ALL day at work I wanted to know what to expect -down to the last dollar- with the delivery of our little girl in 4.5 weeks or less.
Luckily I am double covered and so I wasn't expecting too much coming out of our pocket. My primary insurance has a $2000 deductible and then covers 80% of my visits with me paying for 20% after that up to another $2000. To put that into layman terms- I would end up paying $4000 JUST with my primary insurance.
My secondary insurance is military and so I already knew we wouldn't have to pay more than $100 for a deductible- I know, LUCKY! Well, I just got off the phone with John at Tricare and he told me that THE ONLY amount I will have to pay is..... $15.65!!!!!!!
This is for ME and PEANUT--TOGETHER! Ugh, I love being double covered AND having a husband in the military- so MANY benefits!
Do you even KNOW how EXCITED I am with this?! Oh my goodness! I am beaming from ear to ear.
Oh Shina! That is so awesome! Kel was about $1100 out of pocket to have and we had some pretty good insurance back then. I bet you are riding on a cloud. I seriously need to see you! If I order some more mascara will you come over? :) I actually really do need some. Love you guys!
ReplyDeleteThat completely rocks! I miss you...
ReplyDeleteOh ladies, I love you both!
ReplyDeleteBrooke, just say when and I will bring you some mascara- at least before Peyton comes. lol
Lisa, I miss you too- we still need to do lunch someday.
WOW! That is completely amazing! How wonderful for you guys!! Does that amount include your appointments leading up to the hospital visits, or just the actual hospital part? I've been wondering how that all works.
ReplyDeleteHey Shaela, Well since I am double covered I haven't had to pay a cent for any of my visits. Also, ecause pregnancy is termed "global", everything is kind of lumped together as far as I understand it. Don't quote me on that one though because I've heard of people having to pay each time they go in for a pregnancy check... it may depend on your insurance.
