Day 17: Plans, Dreams and Goals that we have

I am involving Dave on this posting because our plans, dreams and goals involve us as a unit as well as our future children.

Plans:
1- Move out of our apartment complex as soon as May 2011 rolls around so that we can put our family in a healthier environment. We are staying in Ogden, close to campus so Dave can get to and from school easily. We would like for our NEW apartment to have at least two bedrooms, washer and dryer hookups and a dishwasher.
2- Dave decided this semester to do a BIS through Weber State. His three areas of focus will be Nutrition, Health Promotion and Chemistry. The plan is all laid out and we are tentatively looking at graduating by the Spring of 2012.
3- Once Dave has graduated with his Bachelors he is going to apply for grad school at the U in their Nutrition department. The end result will be Dave becoming a Registered Dietitian.
4- Once Dave has a job which makes more than I do, I am going to stay home with our kids. This has been a dream of mine since I was a little girl and I am excited for it to become a reality!

Dreams:
1- To someday move out of Utah and experience life outside of the bubble we live in. Dave and I feel this would be a great growth opportunity for our little family.
2- Dave has a dream to someday own a "Big Dog" motorcycle with ape hanger handle bars.
3- I want to stay home with our kids and fulfill my responsibilities as a mother and wife.
4- Dave and I have a dream to someday have enough money to have no debt but our future house payment.
5- We want to have our own garden where we can grow fruits and veggies and teach our children responsibility.

Goals for 2011:
1- To pay off Dave's motorcycle and our small debts by the end of 2011.
2- Attend the temple at least once a month
3- Have regular family home evening, scripture study and family prayer
4- Save up for a new family vehicle (NOT a minivan)

  1. I am loving this post. So many similarities between us. (Have you ever read any of Dave Ramsey's books? They are all about getting and staying out of debt.)Matt and I want to go to the temple more regularly. Maybe we can double-date or something! Dinner and a session!

  2. I haven't read any of his books- I am all about staying out of debt. Thankfully we don't have a ton. I don't know how people get way over their heads!
We totally should double! Our favorite date nights are our temple nights:) That would be fun!
