The Present, The Future

I find it amazing how Heavenly Father works sometimes. Our wedding plans are coming along.. slowly, but coming along nonetheless. We have only been engaged for a month (and two days), but already we have SO many things done, or in the works for our big day!

1- David turned in his letter to his bishop in MS for his temple clearance on Tuesday. I can't explain the relief this takes off of me! I have been praying for that so that we can set an official day to be sealed. Now all we have to do is wait... [David was married once before in the temple and before we can be sealed he has to have clearance.]

2- My AMAZING co-worker lives in Bountiful and she randomly came up to me in January and asked me if she could offer something to Dave and I. I hesitantly said, "Yes.." and she continued on by offering her backyard to us for our reception! I have ALWAYS wanted a backyard reception, but I didn't really care whether it was in a backyard.. or a church gym; the reception is NOT the most important part. I went with my parents to her house and IT IS PERFECT! I am so excited to have our friends and family celebrate our big day with us there!

3- I have another AMAZING co-worker who is one of the greatest women and friends I know (whom I actually share an office with) who also wants to help make Team Owen's day perfect. Her way of doing this involves her husband and his DJ-ing skills! She knew that Dave and I LOVE dancing so, she and her husband have offered to be our DJ's at the reception! I was planning on burning a cd with different songs on it, but NOW we have someone who can mix it up and make our party, jammin' :) Dave and I are SUPER excited to get our grooves on with all of our friends, so if you're coming to our reception- plan on staying long enough so that you can dance, and REALLY celebrate with us! :)
What makes this part of the story even better- there is a little deck in my other co-workers back yard that will be PERFECT for the mixer and speakers, etc.

4- My dress is currently at the seamstress' getting altered~ It was AWESOME to put it on again! I can't wait for David to see me in it. It is so perfect!

5- Dave's mom and sister went with me last Saturday to look at table decorations. I don't want to make any final decisions until David gets home.. this is his wedding too and I want his input!

6- Dave and I know what we are serving at our reception~ cupcakes, peanut butter filled M&M's and starbursts. Don't worry- there will be some healthy stuff there too:)

7- Dave and I are going to follow suite with his best friend Ryan and his wife Jacee~ at their reception they wore Converse shoes... Dave and I are stealing that idea:) Mine will be red or green and Dave's will be black. (Dave is going to wear ALL black- he is going to look MIGHTY FINE!)

8- Bridesmaids and groomsmen: Dave and I have discussed it and we have decided that we have too many friends to choose which ones will be our BM and GM ( it gets too complicated...). Our family members have been and are our biggest supporters so we have decided to have them take that place behind us, encouraging us and being our biggest fans:) Angela and Rosann will be my bridesmaids and Pete, Chris, Vince and Ben will be Dave's groomsmen. If Ryan, (Dave's best friend) is able to be there he will be one of Dave's GM. He is like a brother to him-- and I freaking LOVE Ryan to death!

9- My grandma is going to make our cake. We don't want anything extravagant (NO FONDANT!) or something we will waste so, we are going to have a small cake (a reasonable size for the two of us to shove in each others faces and also to share on our one year anniversary). I am excited with the idea Dave and I have come up with for it:)

10- My AMAZING friend Lisa is going to take ALL of our pictures. She has agreed to do our temple pictures and my bridals on the same day so Dave and I aren't rushed on our wedding day and so our families can relax a little and not have to stand through millions of pictures:)

Dave and I are excited for things to come together and we can see the hand of the Lord in everything we are doing. We are so blessed and we can't wait to be married for time and all eternity!
