David and I met fall semester '06 at Weber State University. We had the same leadership scholarship through Weber and were required to meet weekly with the other members of our scholarship to accomplish the requirements of keeping our scholarship. We became friends and did quite a few things together for Wildcat Scholars with our friend Hollie Kearl.

This is a glorious picture of Dave at the '06 WSU Halloween Dance at the Union Building.
He had just had surgery on his knee and was loaded with pain meds.
After two years of not seeing Dave, I ran him at the WSU Halloween institute dance in '08. He was dressed as the Hannibal and I had no idea who he was at first. I was creeped out that this guy knew my name... and I couldn't tell who he was. As soon as he took of the mask I screamed, "Dave!" and jumped into his arms. It was SO good to chat with him. We danced once that night together during a swing song. We were experimenting and I tried a back flip- I ended up hitting his face and knocking his mask off. Now that I look back on it, it was pretty hilarious, but at the time I felt horrible. :)

The following Monday I checked my Facebook page and noticed that Dave had left a message on my wall. We started talking and agreed that we needed to get together and do something sometime. We exchanged numbers and texted back and forth the rest of the week. We went on a date November 7th and became members of the polar bear club. We drove to Pineview, in the valley and jumped into the reservoir with out swim suits on. It was FREEZING!
After our adventure we got Hot Cocoa and went back to my apartment for some sweet times with my Ninja Turtle Coloring Book! We had a blast on our date and were able to reminisce about the good ol' days with WildCat Scholar and update each other on our lives.
Dave and I talked until 3 AM that night; touching on various topics that interested both of us. We knew after a very short time that there was something there. I had never met a man before who was so driven and goal oriented! That and the love that he has for his Father in Heaven were HUGE attractions to me right off.
David and I were inseparable after that! We visited with each others families and got to know one anothers friends. The bond between us was very strong in such a short amount of time and it blew each of us away. Neither one of us were expecting to feel such strong feelings, especially with everything we were planning on for ourselves. Dave had signed up and was leaving for Basic Military Training for the Air National Guard on November 25th and I had begun filling out my papers and was planning on leaving in the summer of '09 for an LDS mission!
Heavenly Father defiantly knows what he is doing and he has a way of preparing us for things that we cannot comprehend. When the time is right he works a little magic, and the incomprehensible become apparent- and you know!

He was Mr. Flag Man and I was Miss. Towel Lady
